Forever Love

Ever felt so consumed by a relationship that you lost yourself?

This poem is my story of that journey, and the painful path to finding my way back.

What does the "slow road through the heart" mean to you?

 Forever Love

It wasn't even raining,
And it wasn't so hot,
But I was fully drenched,
With just your thought.

What your arms were doing was waiting,
And waiting was your heart.
The heat from your body seared through me,
I melted into amorphous glass.

I melted onto you,
And we fused as one.
And all they tried,
And all we tried,
It could not be undone.

After much pain,
And trying to be sane,
We now know
This ain't how you start.
And here today,
We've broken this bond
Finally… and at long last.

And may it be known,
And may all know it from the start,
For two to be as one,
It's the slow road through the heart.
