My Little Thief..

 

Sometimes, love arrives in the smallest package, and leaves the biggest space behind.

Zen came to me with a mission only he quite understood — and in fulfilling it, he restored me.

This is a tribute to the soft wonder he was.

My little warrior

My little thief

..he came into my life for a reason..

..an' 'twas a reason so big that ........

He sat on my chest each day and never once told me that it was to warm my heart... to melt the ice that had encased it unnoticed, bit by bit, over the years..

An' slowly but surely the soft fire from his belly penetrated deep into my being..

he never even let me know..

I didn't want him on my chest but he refused to go.

He knew he had a job to get done,

After all that's why he'd come.

My little prince.

He fought for his place in my life ;

He fought for his place in my bed too..

He braved the snarling beast that sleeps at my feet to sneak up onto my head .. onto my head, yes that's what i said ! 

And when i screamed at him and pushed him off he sneaked back on but this time settled for my pillow instead ..

I conceded, for that was the compromise we made.. In the wee hours , most days. 

Just like that .. bit by bit, he stole my heart.

Unawares... my heart was taken.

The little crafts master.. 

The little Robin hood..

He stole my heart from its cage.. only to return it to me again.. that too after repairing it fully. . .

They say cats come into your life for a reason...

... and usually it's a reason so big that there is a saying that goes, ' They say cats come into your life for a reason' ..

He changed my life ;

He changed me .

.. and then he was gone..

... And then he was gone .

.. For He Came Knowing That He Was The Missing Piece Of My Heart.

I now realise that my yearning for a cat was actually a yearning for love,

For my soul knew that i had a cat sized hole

That could only be filled by a cat.
